Sparkly new changes to pricing, booking, website, staff.

 G’day Uncanny Customers,

It’s been a truly amazing year for Uncanny Animals, even through some of the most trying times. To think of how far we have come in just one year (through a pandemic no less) is staggering. We simply couldn’t have done it without you and your furry friends!

As our business and team grows, so does the way we operate, and we want to keep you in the loop.

 

PRICING ADJUSTMENTS

There will be a pricing restructure from Monday 24th May 2021. This adjustment is necessary to keep up with inflation, overheads, and also to be charging industry standards (of which we’ve realised we weren’t!) New price guides will be updated on the website over the coming weeks. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to know your new price prior to your next appointment.

From the same date, weekend appointments will incur a 10% surcharge. This is typical of the grooming industry, and something we had previously overlooked.

 

BOOKING ADJUSTMENTS

Going forward there will no longer be “Puppy Grooms” or “Kitten Grooms” listed when making an online booking. Just book in your pet’s breed and we will charge you accordingly when you arrive. This is mostly so we can allocated more time to give your pup the best first grooming experience rather than feeling rushed. 

 

WEBSITE

Our website has been completely redone and the new one will launch the start of June. This means you will be able to shop online, place orders for the bakery, and book grooming appointments all from one location! Tell your non-local friends they’ll now be able to get a slice of Uncanny Animals with our online store. We’ll also conduct a little promotional give away when we launch - so keep an eye out! 

 

NEW TEAM

Annie, of course, is still around (Hi, it’s me writing this. lol.) but let us introduce all our new amazing staff members…

Lauren (Receptionist / PA / Manager)

If you have already been into the Yarraville store, you have probably already met Lauren. She is our resident American, having previously worked in salons in LA. She is front of house 5 days a week and is proficient in her knowledge of dog training (hopefully we can get her training under Uncanny Animals *wink wink*.) Lauren has a gorgeous dachshund called “Frank.”

 

Maddie (Groomer)

Maddie is our queen of the big dogs and the double coated breeds! She thrives when de-shedding or groom-out a coat. Maddie is also the resident pet chef of “Uncanny Cafe”, which you can make orders through for cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Maddie has two sweet border collies called “Alfie” and “Piper” and an elderly kitty called “Lilly.”

 

Shakira (Groomer)

Shakira is a superstar with the fluffy, curly haired breeds - yes, a master of the “teddy bear cut.” She has many qualifications and years of grooming experience under her belt, as well as a certificate in animal behaviour studies and 3 years cattery experience. Additionally, Shakira has a diploma in Graphic Design - an artistic eye that helps her groom!

Shakira has two cheeky felines called “Pepper” and “Charlie”

 

Lori (Receptionist)

Lori is a local Yarravillian and is our receptionist on Tuesdays. Lori also makes the beautiful hand-made bandanas you can find in our store. Lori is really knowledgable about sewing, so loves people coming in for the fashion on her days, hehe. Lori has a bouncy 1 year old golden retriever called “Claudia” (and 2 human children.)
